Portugal beating England, and France beating Brazil, both were unexpected.
Firstly I've never seen a penalty shoot-out as exciting as today's, between Portugal and England. Exciting for a surprising reason ..... the lack of goals. Kept everyone at the edge of their seats.
Being an ardent supporter of Argentina, I was kind of neutral about who wins between Brazil and France. I was thinking that Brazil reaching the finals would make it interesting as it would have made a classic battle between South American and European football. But it was not to be as Brazil showed perhaps the most dismal performance in this tournament.
And in the end, it turns out that this is not gonna be a World Cup finals after all. It's gonna be a European Cup finals!
Who would you vote between Germany, Portugal, Italy and France? I think I'm gonna abstain from voting.
Whatever my opinion, Germany's fortunes appear pretty strong at the moment.
